Most of the pieces in this gallery are from what has been a personal theme of mine for many years. That is the beautiful diversity of the people on our planet. I love movement, color, expression and feeling. Anything I find that inspires that in me, I jump on it. My paintings, no matter what they portray, evolve on the canvas. Other than the main subject which has captured me in the first place, I seldom know what the painting will look like when it is finished. As First Nations' culture is near and dear to my heart, it is the essence of much of my work.

For many years I just painted horses. Then as my life began to take me farther away from larger communities and I was surrounded by the valleys and forests, I became acutely aware of all the life within them. Most of my wildlife art is of Canadian animals, but just as with being in awe of the diversity of the people on the planet, so am I of the variety of wildlife on the earth and sometimes I just have to paint them! |
